1. Your right to deletion
You have the right to request the deletion of all personal data we hold about you at any time. We process all valid deletion requests within 30 days and confirm by email once your data has been removed.
2. What data we hold
Depending on whether you are a Botoochat customer (store owner) or a customer of one of our merchants, we may hold:
- Your account details: name, email, phone number, business name
- Your store configuration: products, prices, delivery zones, AI assistant settings
- Conversation history between your customers and your AI assistant
- Order data: customer names, phone numbers, addresses, products ordered, wilaya
- Meta page connection tokens (used to access your Facebook and Instagram pages)
- Billing and payment records (kept separately for legal compliance)
3. How to request deletion
To request deletion of your data, choose one of the methods below. Both reach the same team and are processed in the same time frame.
Option A — Email
Send an email to support@botoochat.online with the subject "Data Deletion Request".
Include in your email:
- The email address associated with your Botoochat account (if applicable)
- Your full name as registered
- The Facebook or Instagram page name (if your data came through a merchant)
- A brief reason for the request (optional)
Option B — WhatsApp
Send a WhatsApp message to +213 655 705 525 with the text "Data Deletion Request" and the same information listed above.
4. What happens after you request deletion
- Acknowledgement (within 48 hours): We confirm we received your request and may ask one verification question to confirm your identity.
- Deletion (within 30 days): We delete your personal data from our active systems.
- Final confirmation: We send you a written confirmation by email once deletion is complete.
5. Data we may need to retain
Some data must legally be retained for a limited period even after deletion of your account:
- Billing records and invoices: kept for the period required by Algerian tax law
- Anti-fraud logs: kept for up to 12 months in anonymised form
- Backups: automatic system backups are overwritten within 30 days
All other personal data is permanently removed.
6. Customers of merchants using Botoochat
If you are an end customer who messaged a store that uses Botoochat (and not a Botoochat account holder yourself), the store owner is the primary controller of your data. You can:
- Contact the store owner directly to request deletion at their end
- Contact us using the methods above — we will coordinate with the store to remove your data
7. Deletion is permanent
Once data is deleted, we cannot recover it. If you delete your account but later return as a customer, you will need to reconfigure your products, delivery zones, and AI assistant settings from scratch.
